Pediatric Nutrition Counseling

Pediatric nutrition counseling sessions and follow-up appointments

Each pediatric nutrition consultation is individualized for your family and your child's needs.  From picky eating to feeding difficulties to poor growth to general healthful pediatric nutrition counseling.  We work together to come up with a realistic plan for you and your family, focusing on your short term and long term goals.

Help your children make peace with food.

What is one-on-one counseling like?

Every case is different, but my approach contains three essential components.

 Discovery

Let’s hope on the phone to talk about what’s going on. Before we schedule an appointment, I want to make sure we feel comfortable working together. You can tell more about your challenges and I can point you in the right direction.

Initial Appointment

Once we are ready to meet to discuss the case, we will go over a detailed feeding history for your child and family.  No two families are alike, and I pride myself in obtaining a complete history.  We will discuss your challenges and obstacles, and I’ll help you understand the nutritional and behavioral path forward.  By listening to you, I am able to provide recommendations that meet your family’s needs and lifestyle, which maximizes the chance of success. We’ll work together to come up with goals that feel doable and realistic for your family, and a plan to approach mealtimes, feeding and food.

Follow-Up

After each session I will send a written recap of our plan, and suggest timing of a follow-up appointment.  Follow-up appointments are typically shorter, but focus on identifying ways to make our plan sustainable. I am here to be your partner on this feeding journey.  I want to support you in the best way possible so your children and family grows and flourishes.

How do you assess a family's needs?

We start with a phone call.  Schedule a free 15 minute introductory call with me.  I will listen, offer support, and tell you more about how you can work with me and how I can help.  We’ll make sure we’re a good fit. It’s important to make sure you want to work with me and feel confident in ways I can help you.  From there, we will schedule an initial appointment, where you will provide me with a detailed history of your child’s feeding and we will come up with a plan to approach mealtimes, feeding and food.  We’ll work together to come up with goals that feel doable and realistic for your family.

I tell every single one of my clients, I am here to be your partner on this feeding journey.  I want to support you in the best way possible so your children and family grows and flourishes.

How do I know if I am ready to work with you?

Do you wake up in the morning and dread mealtimes?  Are you feeling anxiety at every mealtime – wondering if your child is meeting their nutrition needs, but more importantly, if you are approaching mealtimes in the right way? Most of my clients have tried many other options already.  They have googled, talked to fellow parents, asked family for advice, and discussed with daycare providers and teachers, and even pediatricians.  You’re beginning to believe that information alone is not enough.  You’re looking for practical, expert advice that is backed by scientific evidence, tailored to your individual challenges, and free of judgement.  You want someone who’s been there, and is going to be your guide along this feeding journey. You want support with actionable steps you can take so that feeding doesn’t feel like a burden.

Schedule a free introductory call and we can determine if there’s a fit.   I am here to be your guide, provide evidence-based guidance and support to make mealtimes more joyful and help your child eat new foods.
